OliveBox Spotlight Series // 1
In honor of National Letter Writing Month, we’re launching the first edition of our vendor spotlight series! Travel with us across the country as we highlight some of our most loved letterpresses.
Though the West Coast doesn’t have a monopoly on our favorite things (the beach, Hollywood, mountains, In-N-Out Burger), it is called home by a few of our favorite teams.
As followed! All lady owned-and-operated businesses, bringing the best of paper goods to your mailboxes:
Los Angeles, CA
Oh man, have you ever seen anything more exuberant in your life? The term “rad” should not be thrown around lightly (if ever) but it’s definitely applicable here: owners Allison and Jessica have created a truly legendary paper-goods style.
Brought to you from their studio in LA, their combined imagination has gifted the world with the incomparable you’re so dope card, glitzy matchboxes, and collection of die-cut cards. Gold foil and witty banter feature heavily.
Colorado Springs, CO
Several years after their custom letterpress took off in Rhode Island, Morgan and Arley-Rose moved to Colorado Springs to found their flagship store where they host one-of-a-kind events like hand lettering workshops and “print your own damn personal stationery” nights.
San Diego, CA
How did this name come about, you ask? Founder Katie Hart used the alias ‘Odd Daughter’ as a play off her mother’s maiden name ‘Evenson’ all throughout childhood, and the rest is history. (The incredible hand lettering and illustration was a skill picked up later in life. We believe.)
Infamous creator of the you made a tiny human! card, I love you more than tacos, and I’d ford the river for you cards, her California roots are evident in her sunny designs and lush map illustrations.
Founded in 2010 by Yas Imamura, the Quill & Fox studio is an amalgamation of The Little Prince and the aesthetic of the handwritten letter.
The visual equivalent of dreamy trop-house, this Portland design studio brings you beautifully illustrated floral cards with captions like I love you more than pizza, calendars that bring the magic of the outdoors into your wonderful air-conditioned home, and notepads that actually make you want to sit down and work.
P.S. For all our local friends: drop by any of our locations tonight, 4 – 7 pm, for our monthly Paper Lover’s Night! Shop 10% off all paper goods. Find goods from these amazing designers and more in store!
