OliveBox Designer Spotlight Series // 2
Welcome to the second edition of our designer spotlight series, in honor of National Letter Writing Month! Travel with us across the country as we highlight some of our most loved letterpresses.
Kansas City, MO
At the intersection of angular and symmetrical design lies Hammerpress. If you’re looking for products that are straightforward and pleasing to the eye, hug your ruler tight and jump aboard their fanclub.
Bringing you everything from sturdy postcards with sage advice to their trusty illustrated badge card series, this veteran letterpress studio has been chugging along strong for twenty years since founder Brady Vest first opened shop.
After moving onto his family farm, Chad and Meg Gleason opened up their letterpress studio in the wide open fields and it shows. Every creation produced at this farm is beautifully hand painted and somewhat ethereal.
Ranging from greeting cards, notebooks, to gift wrapping, every piece is weighty and feels like a mini work of art. Look at this baby card! Look at these gift tags! This small jotter looks like a skirt Diana of Wales would have worn to a gala.
Founded by Eva and Kirk after years of travel and exploration, this wife-and-husband team now operates this beautiful letterpress out of sustainable materials in their rugged mountain home.
Look at these cards — they look like they belong in frames rather than an envelope (but never let anyone tell you how to live your life). In their incredible hand-painted, hand-lettered watercolor card series, highlights include quotables by: Gandhi, Balzac, Byron, and Shaw. Pair with watercolor prints for optimal aesthetic appeal.
Somehow Christina Hart, of Wild Hart Paper, has contrived to make cards and prints that are both lush and playful (and joyful!) all at once. It’s impossible to choose favorites.
