About OliveBox

What is OliveBox?

At its core OliveBox is a monthly subscription service for paper lovers! Our members receive a curated box of beautiful stationery, home décor, inspiring books, and other creative finds delivered to their front door each month.

Really, OliveBox is so much more than that. It is also a reminder of that after an age of electronic everything, we are finally back to being excited over beautiful, handwritten letters and receiving physical gifts in the mail. Everyone is so busy these days and we think it’s time to press pause. Take a moment to enjoy the journey, and savor that moment whenever you get the chance.

Where did the idea behind OliveBox come from?

Well OliveBox is the brainchild of Grace Kang and it must be said that Grace is a bit of a creative genius! Grace is the owner and chief buyer for Pink Olive, a popular gift boutique based in New York City. In her former life, she was a fashion buyer for Barney’s, Saks and Bloomingdales.

Grace saw a need for people to pause from their busy lives and enjoy the journey. People want to feel inspired every day and even longing for simpler times. OliveBox will help discover creative finds that inspire giving and beautiful living.

What’s included in my OliveBox?

Here at OliveBox we work hard to curate each month’s collection with a special theme that will make you squeal with delight!

This means that each month your OliveBox will be unique, special, and always very beautiful. We typically include 2-3 items that includes a mix of either stationery, delightful greeting cards, inspiring artwork, lovely home décor items, creative magazine or cute crafty finds. The total value of the goods will always be what you pay for each month, if not more. We may from time to time include a surprise gift in there so you don’t want to miss a box! :)

 

What do you mean by paper goods? Am I getting a box of cards?

Great question! When people think of paper, you might immediately think about greeting cards. While that may be true and we love snail mail, there are so many creative ways to look at paper. When you think about it, paper can be transformed into something creative and inspiring such as: gorgeous letterpress cards, stationery, art prints, stickers, labels, bags, inspiring books, creative magazines and home decor. However unlike our regular monthly subscription service, OliveBox card box will be filled solely with beautiful greeting cards for every kind of celebration. This way, you will always have something on hand to share the delightful gift of snail mail with those you love. Woot!

I want to be featured in the card box? How do I apply?

Are you a stationery designer looking for a unique opportunity to market to nearly 10,000 paper lovers? Do you have beautiful card designs that you want to share with an entire community of creatives?
If so, Olivebox is the perfect place for you.

How is OliveBox card box different from the regular OliveBox?

The OliveBox card box is filled solely with beautiful greeting cards (approximately 6 beautifully designed cards and 12 heart stickers to spread the love) based on a theme. This way, you will always have something on hand to share the delightful gift of snail mail with those you love. The card box is delivered to your front door every other month.

The regular lifestyle OliveBox is a curated mix of beautiful stationery, home décor, inspiring books, and/or other creative finds (approximately 3-4 picks) based on a theme. The lifestyle OliveBox is delivered to your front door every month.

How much is OliveBox card box and what’s included?

Here at OliveBox card box, you can subscribe to one card box ($25 + $7.95 shipping) or subscribe annually to receive six card boxes per year ($150 + free shipping).

Every other month, we work send you a card box based on a theme that will make you squeal with delight! You an never have too many cards, right?

Each box will typically include 6 to 8 beautifully designed cards and 12 heart stickers to spread the love with snail mail.  The total value of the goods will always be what you pay for each month, if not more. We may from time to time include a surprise gift in there so you don’t want to miss a box! :)

Here are the scheduled themes for the OliveBox card box:

November 2013 card box: holiday (must sign up by October 31, 2013)
January 2014 card box: love/valentine (must sign up by December 31, 2013) EXTENDED to January 30, 2014
March 2014 card box: birthday (must sign up by February 28, 2014)
May 2014 card box: thank you (must sign up by April 30, 2014)
July 2014 card box: baby (must sign up by June 30, 2014)

Can I swap my OliveBox subscription with OliveBox card box?

Since OliveBox and OliveBox card box are operated under two different shipping cycles, we are not able to swap the subscriptions. However, if you are on a monthly plan, please email us at hello@myolivebox.com and we will do our best to make it happen. Thank you! xoxo

What if I don’t like one of the products that I receive?

We work hard to curate a beautiful assortment of goodies that will make your smile, but unfortunately you may not like something in the box. The beauty behind OliveBox is that it’s meant to give and receive.  It never hurts to have a stash of gifts to send to a friend with a different taste than you! Ahh, the joy of giving and receiving.

What if I receive an item in my box that is broken or damaged?

Well, we will be devastated to hear this! Just send us an email at hello@myolivebox.com and we’ll get it all sorted out.

Gift Memberships

If I have a gift subscription what happens after it runs out?

We hope that you will join us as a regular OliveBox member :) You can become a member by clickin here. Remember that you will need to “join” by the 30th of the previous month to get this month’s OliveBox. Any questions, please email us at hello@myolivebox.com.

How can I send OliveBox subscription as a gift?

This is easy! Simply click on the box that says “perfect gift” on homepage. Read thru the info and click on the button “Give the gift of OliveBox today!” Select the gift membership and just follow the instruction. Be sure to include a gift note and we will include a handwritten note inside the gift box.  Please note:  your billing address in your profile must match the billing address of the credit card. Shipping address can be different. If you have any questions, please email us at hello@myolivebox.com and we’ll be more than happy to assist you.

What if I love an item in OliveBox so much that I want to buy it for a friend?

Never fear, all of the beautiful items in OliveBox will be made available through PinkOlive.com, so just hop on over and purchase the item through our 24/7 marketplace shop. Or email us at shop@pinkolive.com and we’ll order the item for you.

How can I send a gift note prior to them receiving the physical OliveBox next month?

You will now have the ability to send a personalized email OR download a gift note template for you to give to the recipient in person.

Simply log into your account and click on the link “Send a Gift Note.” It will ask if you want to email a gift note to your friend OR print a gift note and delivery in person! Your choice.

Voila!

What if I want to buy a OliveBox for a future gift?

As you know, the deadline for shipping next month’s OliveBox is the 30th of the previous month (see shipping note here).

However, we want to make your gifting lives easier being able to purchase OliveBox for a future gift. Whether you are buying the gift for a birthday, anniversary, or just because, we have you covered.

Go ahead and purchase your gift subscription for OliveBox today and email us at hello@myolivebox.com. Let us know which month you would like to have it shipped… and voila. You’re done :)

My Membership

What are the types of OliveBox memberships available?

Here at OliveBox, so you can subscribe for one month, three month, six month or twelve months depending on you and your needs. You can check out the different types of memberships here.

When is my credit card charged?

For monthly membership, your credit card is charged at the time of your purchase and you will receive your first OliveBox the following month. A recurring charge for your monthly membership will be applied to your credit card every 30 days. You can cancel at any time.

For 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month OliveBox membership, your credit card is charged in full at the time of your purchase. A recurring charge for your membership will be applied to your credit card when your membership is automatically renewed.

For gift purchases, your credit card is charged up front at the time of your gift purchase.

Are there any other costs?

No, just the subscription fees and shipping costs (unless you are a 12 month member, then there are no shipping costs!)

Can I cancel my subscription?

Monthly members can cancel their future OliveBox subscription at any time. There are no cancellation fees. Simply log into your account and under memberships, click on “billing” to cancel your membership. You will not be billed for the following month. Please note:  be sure to cancel before your next recurring charge date to avoid getting the following month’s OliveBox shipment.

However, we are unable to cancel or refund any prepaid long term membership packages.

Is sales tax charged?

If you live in New York, state tax regulations require that we collect 8.875% sales tax on orders shipped. All other states will not be charged sales tax.

Why is shipping not included in all OliveBox memberships?

Our main goal with OliveBox is to curate a beautiful selection of products that not only bring you high-quality inspirations but are valued above our monthly price. While we would love to include shipping in all of our memberships. we are unable to provide this value and not charge shipping too.

But we have some good news! If you decide to join a 12 month OliveBox membership, we would like to gift you free shipping for the entire period. It’s our way of thanking you for being our long term customers.

How do I upgrade my membership?

Woo hoo! We are so happy to hear that you want to upgrade your membership. Please email us at hello@myolivebox.com and we will take care of that for you.

What if I just signed up and want to receive this month’s OliveBox?

We’re so glad you asked!

Every month, we reserve a few extra boxes just for our members who wish to purchase additional boxes for friends & family. This is one of the perks of being a member to OliveBox so now you can enjoy this perk too. Please email us at hello@myolivebox.com and let us know which box you would like. If we have it in-stock, we will charge your account for $25 + $7.95 for shipping and ship it out right away. Limited quantity available.

Shipping

When will my first OliveBox ship?

Once you place your first order, your OliveBox will ship by the 15th of the following month. (For example, if you place your order between September 2nd to 30th, your first OliveBox will ship by the 15th of October.)

We do our best to ship boxes by the 15th of each month, and while we don’t anticipate delays, inclement weather and vendor delays may postpone the arrival of your box, so we kindly ask for your patience.  Any questions, please email us at hello@myolivebox.com.

How will my OliveBox ship?

At OliveBox we use USPS Priority Mail. It will arrive on your front doorstep within 2-3 business days after it leaves our shipping location middle of each month.

For shipments to Canada, we ship via USPS First Class International. Due to customs, it may take 1-3 weeks for delivery.

How can I change my shipping address?

You can make changes to your billing and shipping addresses in your account page under Billing. Shipping addresses need to be updated by the 30th of the month in order to be reflected in the following month’s shipping.  Returned shipments due to an invalid address will incur a $7.95 re-shipping charge. If you have any questions, please email us at hello@myolivebox.com and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Do you ship internationally?

Not at this stage unfortunately, we hope to in very near the future!

How do I check the status of my OliveBox shipment?

Once we ship your OliveBox, we will send you an email to say it is on its way. In this email will be a tracking number, you can then log onto the USPS website to check the status of your shipment.

Do you ship to Canada?

YES! We love our Canadian customers and decided to include Canada in our shipping route. However, please note that the package will be shipping via USPS First Class and may take between 1 to 3 weeks from the shipping date due to customs.

Please note: Shipping fee will be $10.95/month

Do you ship to Puerto Rico, Alaska & Hawaii?

Yes! :) Just click on the drop down under “State” at checkout and you will see the option for Puerto Rico, Alaska or Hawaii.

Returns

If a package is returned to OliveBox due to an incorrect address, the subscriber will be responsible for the re-shipping cost of $7.95. You may update your mailing address at any time under your account, or please contact us at hello@myolivebox.com and we’d be happy to assist you. Mailing addresses need to be updated by the 30th of the previous month in order to be reflected in the following month’s shipping list. 

Returned boxes will be held for 90 days before being donated.
